The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 680 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 11 trips to carry that many people.

From Planner to Bride: My Experience

14 May

56D80_2193_8X10

As I embark upon a new season of planning beautiful weddings for my couples, I thought I’d take a moment to share my experience as a bride on December 28, 2013. After missed opportunities to renew our vows, Charles and I set a date to celebrate 13 years of wedded bliss. The planning process started with sound advice, the same advice I give to couples during our initial consultation.
1. Research your wedding vendors. This includes the wedding planner. Read reviews and check references from clients and other vendors.
2. Good Fit. Make sure you and the wedding professional are a good fit. You will spend a considerable amount of time with him or her planning your special day.
3. Trust. Trust the wedding professionals you hire to make your wedding day magical. Most importantly trust the “Orchestrator” also know as Your Wedding Planner. He or she will work with and alongside the team managing the details and directing the sequence of events so that on wedding day you are known as Bride and Groom. Just envision receiving an invitation to your event and celebrating as a guest.

After months of planning our Vow Renewal and preparing for Charles’ return from deployment, I decided to hire a Wedding Planner, also known as the “Orchestrator” to take the reins so Charles and I could become Bride and Groom. Yes, I heeded my own advice. The Planner hired a Planner. The planner was non other than Nishaka Proctor, http://www.eventsbynishaka.com. Nishaka was assisted by my  P3 Weddings team member, Deborah Culbreth.

Niskaka  is a dear industry colleague whom I had the pleasure of working with in other event capacities. Her spirit during our interaction let me know she was a good fit and we trusted her with orchestrating our event (not easy when you are a wedding planner yourself). Our day was magical, stress free, fun, and executed with excellence. The best was part was being introduced, as Bride and Groom, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Diggs on December 28, 2013.  My journey from planner to bride to planner was beautiful thanks to Nishaka Proctor and team P3, Deborah Culbreth.  Love You Ladies!!

Planner Retying the Knot

14 Jun

Mr. and Mrs. DiggsAfter 12 years of wedded bliss filled with military adventures, my husband Charles and I have decided to renew our vows. Why so long, well each time we reached a certain milestone or breathing point, duty called and we were on the move again. Well duty called again, but we decided to move forward with our plans to re-tie the knot.

The vow renewal ceremony will be a nod to our military careers, our wedding colors, the Iris flower, in memory of my mom and P3 Weddings Logo Flower, and living abroad as a military couple. It will be an elegant,  fun filled, memorable occasion indicative of our personalities and lifestyles.

From a small chapel at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to a large chapel at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and points in between.

This time we have Saved the Date.

P3 Wedding and Event Inspiration

10 Jun

Welcome back to P3 Weddings Inspiration. We are back  from a busy start to 2013. To date we have planned and presented 3 weddings for 3 dynamic and special couples. Each wedding was filled with unique details inspired by colors, favorite things, photos, places, and lifestyles.

Our January 2013 blog post touched on enjoying the journey to planning your wedding or special event and being inspired by elements that invoke the 5 senses. Most importantly I asked that you share your journey with someone special. Well, as a planner I’m always looking for inspiration not only for my clients, but for me as well.

Here are some pictures that inspire me to create beautiful events. Elements are taken from my favorite colors, places I have lived, home décor, and items that invoke special memories of my love ones. I hardly ever follow the trend except as it relates to color. As a planner, the trend is whatever I create that causes someone for fall in love with my design.
